Combat Cheatsheet

This Stranger Than Heaven combat cheatsheet is the bumper map as a screenshotable object. It does not replace controls or combat basics. It sits on a second screen while a trailer plays so you can name a limb out loud. Pad first. Keyboard still unpublished.

The map, without a sermon

LB: left arm. LT: left leg. RB: right arm. RT: right leg. Hold: charge. Release: heavy. LT+RT: tackle. Both triggers on a downed foe: mount and pound. One side can block while the other hits. A grab on a weapon hand is not the end of the movie; the free bumper still works. That is the whole published gospel, sourced from IGN, GameSpot, Shacknews, and SEGA. If a later pause-menu shot disagrees, the pause menu wins and this grid updates.

Weapons do not get new bumpers. They occupy a hand. Deluxe’s four extra weapons and Kagekiri still live on this same chart. See weapons for what the hand might contain. See how to survive for when using both hands on the first goon is how you die in 1943.

A two-minute drill

Narrate four taps. Narrate one hold. Narrate a block-and-answer. Narrate a tackle. Narrate a mount. Do it with a dead pad. Then watch the overview trailer on the basics page and narrate that. If your mouth is ahead of your thumbs, you are not ready. If your thumbs are ahead of your mouth, you are close. Fluency is boring. Boring is the point of a cheatsheet.

When SEGA publishes keyboard binds, they get a second grid on this page, not a rumor in a comment. Until then, PC players who care about combat should plan on a pad, as the platforms page already warns. Steam Input can remap; it cannot invent a good four-limb mouse scheme by magic. The tools desk will not fake one.

LB Left arm (LB)
LT Left leg (LT)
RB Right arm (RB)
RT Right leg (RT)
  • Hold to charge
  • LT + RT tackle
  • Both triggers on a downed foe
  • Block with one side, counter with the other

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Heat button on this sheet?

No. None has been shown. Expression is sided limbs, charges, and weapons.

Do PlayStation bumpers match Xbox names?

Yes in function. L1/L2 and R1/R2 are the same four limbs. This page uses LB/LT/RB/RT because official explainers did.

Can I print this?

Screenshot the grid on the page. That is what it is for.
