Standard digital, Standard physical, Deluxe digital, Collector’s physical: preorder any of them and the current pitch includes Kagekiri. Collector’s even prints a dedicated voucher code in the box list, which is a hint that physical bundles treat the DLC as a code you must redeem, not as a disc slot. You still need the base game installed and updated, a legal line SEGA repeats under every bonus. Moveset, damage, and whether it trivializes 1915 are unknown. Place it on the weapons page as a short yakuza blade with a preorder tag, not as a mythic.

Amazon has advertised a poster with some physical Standard PS5 and Xbox carts. That is a retailer extra. It can vanish. It is not Kagekiri. Do not skip a cheaper digital cart because a photo of a poster looked official. Confirm the live cart. Then come back here if the wording changed.

Japanese official notes have used “order by January 14, 2027 23:59” language for Xbox and PlayStation, and “by January 15, 2027 13:59” language for Steam. Those are local-clock sentences, not a global steam whistle. If you are preordering on a foreign storefront, read that storefront’s countdown, not a screenshot from a different region. This wiki will not convert every time zone on earth. It will tell you the offer is a launch-eve thing, not a forever thing.

Game Pass does not need a preorder to play. Game Pass also does not, on any source we have, hand you Kagekiri for being subscribed. If a redemption code later appears in a Microsoft perks pile, it will be news. It is not a plan. Play Anywhere buyers on the Microsoft store still have to preorder that SKU to claim a SEGA preorder bonus, same as anyone else.

Physical Collector’s and physical Standard will likely hide DLC in a slip of paper. Photograph it. Redeem it on the matching platform. A PS5 disc does not feed Steam. An Xbox Play Anywhere purchase does not feed PlayStation. Steam Deluxe is a Steam entitlement. If you dual-buy for dubious reasons, you dual-redeem. The platforms page is the compatibility brain; this paragraph is the hangover prevention.

If you cancel a preorder, assume the blade cancels with it. If you wait for a launch-day sale, assume the blade is gone. If you buy Standard at 12:01 on the 15th, assume you are buying a game, not a dosu. Deluxe Upgrade later will not automatically invent a missed preorder. SEGA’s language is “preorder this product.” It is not “own Deluxe someday.”

Only if you already wanted the game on that storefront. A mystery dosu is a weak reason to skip Game Pass or to skip reviews. It is a decent reason to tap preorder on a copy you were going to buy on PS5 anyway. It is a poor reason to buy Collector’s. Collector’s is a vinyl and a box; the blade is a voucher riding along. Read Collector’s and should you preorder before you let a knife upsell a shelf.

For combat context, a short blade fits the sided system: one hand steel, one hand spare. That is why we bother to name it on a wiki at all. If launch-week footage shows it as a reskin, this page will say so. Until then, treat Kagekiri as flavor with a countdown, and treat the five cities as the meal. Editions never sold you 1965. Preorders do not either.
